Bob was born and raised on a family livestock and crop farm near Wiley, Colorado. He attended Colorado State University where he received a B.A. in Ag Business. He worked for Cargill, Inc. for 10 years prior to accepting a position to manage WindRiver Grain in 1997.

Bob resides in Garden City, Kansas with his wife, Kristi. They have four children, Tanner and his wife Whitney, triplets Greyson, Dusty, and Taryn, and one grandchild Brantley. They enjoy spending weekends on the lake with family and friends.
